Personal Bio
Treatment Philosophy
I am in the prime of my career with 24 years of experience in general surgery, ranging from open to laparoscopic and then robotic approaches. I never stop working to perfect my craft. I believe the best doctors are teachers and thus I work with residents every day. Furthermore, I do research in hernia repair and weight loss surgery, solidifying my expertise.
I aim to form a strong bond with my patients, deliver top-notch surgical care, and maintain faithful follow-up.
Personal Interests
I am passionate about minimally invasive and robotic surgery. In fact, I have been a pioneer at NorthShore for robotic bariatric surgery. In addition, I am one of a few surgeons who do abdominal wall reconstruction and component separation robotically, affording patients better results, less pain and shorter recovery than open and laparoscopic surgery. My research interests include weight loss surgery, hernia repair and mesh, as well as peritoneal dialysis and catheter insertion. Finally, I am committed to research and leadership in medical education and strive to train our next generation of surgeons.
