Treatment Philosophy
“By using all the tools and most up-to-date technology available, I believe that I can ensure an optimal outcome.”
Dr. Rajeev Garapati, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in treating broken bones and other traumatic musculoskeletal injuries, including fractures that haven’t healed properly. In addition, he provides care for foot and ankle conditions.
Dr. Garapati offers patients advanced treatment options, including minimally invasive fracture fixation, ankle arthroscopy and the use of biologic and molecular therapies to enhance bone healing.
Dr. Garapati emphasizes involving patients in their care by educating them about their condition and treatment options. His goal is to restore them to the level of function and activity they had before developing their medical problem.
Personal Interests
Dr. Garapati comes from a family of physicians, including his father, an anesthesiologist, and aunts and uncles. Seeing the satisfaction they took from working with patients and making them better led Dr. Garapati to follow them into medicine.
He is the orthopaedic trauma director at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville and Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Garapati also is an assistant clinical professor of orthopaedic surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine.
He is an avid runner, which gives him an added appreciation of the importance of healthy feet and ankles and helps fuel his determination to improve his patients’ conditions.
