Very good
I was there for 2 hours for an initial exam and review the MRI that I had a week before. I saw 3 people before I finally saw Dr Nolden. The first young woman asked me a couple basic questions and said the Dr would be in soon. There was a long wait. Then another woman came in, she said that she was the Dr nurse. She asked me many specific questions and then said the Dr would be in soon. Then another long wait. Then a young man came in. He started talking about my MRI but didn't introduce himself. I didn't think he was Dr Nolden so I asked. He said no he wasn't, he was a resident. Another wait. Then Dr Nolden came and quickly explained that a cortisone injection would be the way to start. Then I had to wait for quite a while ( I had to go into the hall and look for someone) for the nurse to come back in to give me the number to call to make the injection appointment. She also said a pain medication would be called into my pharmacy. That took 2 messages and 2 days for someone to finally order it. It was a very frustrating experience.
Excellent doctor. Great mannerism. Definitely knows his stuff, explains in laymen's terms, would go to no one else.
I'm very pleased with everything
Listened. Explained things, so it was understandable. Kind. Patiently answered many questions. Felt comfortable that I was in good hands.
I felt like, overall, the pre and post-surgical meetings with Dr. Nolden we're very informative and thoughtful, and surgery itself was very successful. Unfortunately, my repeated recommendations that he, his PA and anesthesiologist do some brief research on an opioid antagonist medication I had made clear I was currently taking. Opioid antagonists block opioid receptors, meaning pain medications administered postoperatively will have a difficult time reaching receptors effectively. I continued to message the team via the portal re: my concerns and possible treatment approaches, but I no longer received replies. I finally sent the team an NIH study: Perioperative Management of a Patient Taking Suboxone at Time of Ambulatory Surgery. The study recommended that patients on this medication be prepared for surgery with a few logical approaches, which I conveyed could easily be found in the conclusion section, as the study Its is rather dense. Ignored entirely. Therefore pain management was woefully and unnecessarily unsatisfactory and could all have been avoided.Suboxone is the name of the medication, and I highly recommend, that at the very least, you encourage your anesthesiology/pain management staff to avail themselves of the above mentioned study or myriad others that were even easy enough for me to find!
Promote. Courteous. Helpful
Contacting my Doctor or his staff by email or phone as bee quite difficult and needs immediate attention.
Dr Nolden and his team are ALWAYS top notch, whether that be communication via the portal or in person they have your well being in mind !
Dr. Nolden solved my back and neck pain with the surgeries he did. He didn't dismiss my pain and has got me to feeling like a person again. He is very knowledgeable and will answer any questions I have for him.
