Tags & #Hashtags

What is tagging?

Tags allow social media users to engage an individual, business, or any entity with a social profile when they mention them in a post or comment. Tagging can be done by beginning with the @ symbol and continuing to type the social user’s name that you would like to connect your post with. e.g @northshoreweb Thank you to all the wonderful doctors who care for their patients every single day!

Tag our social media profiles when appropriate:

Tag your colleagues or partner organizations to share credit, collaborate, and celebrate achievements!

What is a hashtag?

Hashtags are a filing system. Hashtags enable cross-referencing of content; aggregating all social media content using that hashtag.

  • We recommend ≤ 3 hashtags on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • Use our brand hashtags to align your posts with other brand content.
    • #NorthShoreStrong
    • #HealthyDriven
    • #SwedishChicago
    • #TeamNCH
  • Use descriptive hashtags to further amplify your posts to followers of subject matter hashtags. This allows you to brand, organize, and promote your content being posted.
  • Hashtags can be followed by social media users on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
