Friend/Fan/Follower Requests

You will inevitably receive “friend” requests from colleagues and other business contacts through your social channels. It is your decision as to whether you are comfortable accepting these requests.

Privacy Settings

  • Be mindful of the information you’re sharing about yourself, your business, and your family.
  • Each network has specific privacy settings to help you control which information you share.

Here is guidance on managing your privacy settings:

LinkedIn

  • Profile > Settings > Sign in & security
  • Keep an eye on ‘where you’re signed in’ to ensure it is devices you recognize

Twitter

  • Settings (in the top right corner) > Security & account access

Facebook

  • Menu > Settings and privacy > Password and security

We suggest setting up profiles with:

  • A unique, strong password
  • Turn on two-step verification
    • View the status of this setting by following the steps above.

Personal Information

  • Be very careful what you mention online from your personal account.
  • It is never okay to share personal information about any other team members such as their name or personal information unless permission is granted by the team member.
  • HIPAA applies on social media. Never share a photo of a patient or discuss private medical information on social media.
