The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences offers a variety of pharmacologic and psychotherapeutic services and approaches, dependent on the individual patient's needs and presenting concerns.
- Psychiatric Evaluation and Monitoring: Psychiatrists evaluate children, adolescents and adults to assess the need for appropriate psychiatric medications. When medications are indicated, psychiatrists monitor these individuals on a regular basis.
- Individual, Couples, Family and Group Psychotherapy: These services are provided by psychologists and licensed clinical social workers. Traditional reasons for seeking therapy/counseling, include, but are not limited to, treatment of depression, anxiety and/or other psychiatric disorders, the desire to change self-defeating patterns of behavior, gain self-knowledge and acceptance, or utilize support to problem-solve an individual's daily living issues.
