Our Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine provides inpatient, newborn, and pediatric emergency services across four hospital locations, caring for over 18,000 pediatric patients a year.
Our team of 25 pediatric hospitalists and 4 advanced practice nurses provide high quality care and exceptional patient experience. For patients receiving care at our Pediatric Inpatient Unit at Evanston Hospital, we partner with our Child Life team to help our patients navigate the hospital experience by meeting each patient’s unique emotional and developmental needs. We partner with pediatric subspecialists throughout the system to deliver high quality care.

- Newborn nursery care that is evidence based, dyad friendly, with thoughtful transition to a pediatric home
- Physical and virtual presence and partnership in our Emergency Departments for consultation, management, resuscitation and admission of the sickest pediatric patients
- 24-7 care 365 days a year access to acute care and observation with high quality escalation and coordination to critical care or tertiary access to subspecialties
- Evidence-based family-centered inpatient care with strong inter-professional collaboration and a culture of safety
- Cross departmental and multidisciplinary pediatric advocacy and education, to build confidence for anyone caring for a child in our system
- Supervision and education of the next generation of pediatric providers and trainees who will care for children
