Patients in our outpatient clinics, which includes NorthShore University HealthSystem's Obstetric Clinic, Maternal Fetal Medicine high-risk practice and community-based practices, benefit from the pregnancy support services of the Perinatal Family Support Center.
The staff of the Perinatal Family Support Center work closely with women and their families experiencing high-risk pregnancies or those who are referred for psychosocial and/or environmental issues that have impact on pregnancy. Patients who are most often referred include those with medical complications, higher order multiples, histories of pregnancy loss, family difficulties, mental health concerns or financial issues.
Pregnancy support services provided include:
- Emotional Support
- Crisis Intervention
- Anticipatory Guidance
- Identification and Guidance regarding available community-based resources
- Advocacy
- Interdisciplinary Consultation
