Internships

Applications will be accepted for the 2025-2026 academic year from January 6th, 2025- February 10th, 2025.

The Perinatal Family Support Center at Evanston Hospital offers internship opportunities to second or third-year graduate students in the fields of social work and counseling.

Interns have the opportunity to acquire and develop rich clinical skills while working primarily with high-risk pregnancy and postpartum patients and their families in a hospital setting. Perinatal Family Support Center (PFSC) staff work with patients both in inpatient and outpatient settings. Our relationship-based care model ensures continuity of care, as once assigned, the same PFSC staff member remains available to the patient until her care is complete. We also provide support to families whose infant is admitted to our Infant Special Care Unit (ISCU), as well as to children and families in the Pediatric unit. PFSC staff also assists gynecologic patients with discharge planning, as needed.

Internship Requirements

  • Successful completion of first-year field placement
  • Available 24 hours per week, approximately from July to mid-April
