Welcome from the CNO
At NorthShore we celebrate a long and rich history of providing expert, compassionate, evidence-based and innovative care to the patients, families and communities who are at the center of all we do as professional nurses. Nurses are key members of the NorthShore multidisciplinary team across the continuum of care, and as trusted colleagues practice as expert clinicians, advocates, educators, care coordinators, advanced practice providers, researchers, counselors, mentors and administrators.
A hallmark of our success at NorthShore is attracting the best and investing in our own through ongoing professional development. The Nursing STARS Program supports continuing education, nursing research and scholarships, and enables our nurses to meet patient outcomes through a highly skilled, specialized, compassionate and collaborative team. Many nurses have established lifelong careers at NorthShore with exciting and challenging opportunities caring for patients in the ambulatory, emergency, acute care, outpatient, palliative, hospice and home care environments.
NorthShore is a valued academic partner for many local universities and colleges of nursing – we are committed to and invested in the teaching and guiding of the next generation of nurses.
NorthShore nurses work in a truly integrated system, drive their own clinical practice and are recognized for their commitment to exceptional patient care. Proud of our Magnet designation from the American Nursing Credentialing center (ANCC), NorthShore nurses are not only keenly responsible for both internal and external changes and advancements, but are leaders for “What’s Next” in healthcare.
