NorthShore Honors Mark R. Neaman With $20 million Launch of ‘Transformation through Innovation Fund’
11/15/2018 – NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) today unveiled a Transformation through Innovation Fund that honors Mark R. Neaman, retiring Executive Chairman of the Board and longtime NorthShore President and Chief Executive Officer.
The Fund, established through the generous philanthropy of NorthShore Directors, colleagues and friends of Neaman, as well as a targeted institutional investment, will provide vital seed funding for NorthShore’s Personalized Medicine and Orthopaedic & Spine Specialty Care programs. It will also support future growth opportunities to help improve clinical outcomes and health experiences for NorthShore patients.
“As we invest in ways to identify new standards of care, elevate our quality and deliver exceptional patient experiences, it is fitting that we honor Mark Neaman in this way. Working to exceed our patients’ expectations describes perfectly his transformative leadership and distinguished career,” said J.P. Gallagher, NorthShore President and CEO.
As part of a surprise announcement at NorthShore’s recent Annual Directors Dinner, Neaman also was recognized with the renaming of NorthShore’s Center for Personalized Medicine—which now will be known as the Mark R. Neaman Center for Personalized Medicine.
The Neaman Center for Personalized Medicine will continue to benefit patients seeking diagnosis and treatment based on their unique genetic characteristics and health history. Through personalized medicine, physicians are able to better predict, prevent and treat various diseases and conditions.
The Fund is a multi-phase project with a goal of achieving in excess of $50 million by the end of 2021, to support key strategic growth priorities in NorthShore’s next generation plan.
