Glenbrook Hospital reopened its rejuvenated healing garden with a ribbon-cutting on July 27 led by Hospital President Jesse Peterson Hall and Vice President of Nursing and Clinical Operations Maria Knecht. The project has been led by Senior Director of Environmental Health and Safety Services Michael Fiore and the Hospital’s wellbeing committee.
The garden previously served as a healing space for cancer patients specifically, but it will now be offered under a broader goal of healing for all. The multi-phased project to revitalize the garden also supports employee wellbeing, remembrance, and rejuvenation.
Possible additions to the space include an edible garden where team members can enjoy fresh produce, as well as a platform for yoga and mindfulness purposes. Glenbrook Hospital is in the process of recruiting a local master gardener to assist with ongoing expansion efforts.
