NorthShore’s online source for timely health and wellness news, inspiring patient stories and tips to lead a healthy life.
Tyler Bauer, Vice President of NorthShore Medical Group, has been named to Crain’s Chicago Business’ LGBTQ Executive’s List for 2020. A special section in the July 13 issue of Crain’s recognizes leaders from a wide range of sectors who have demonstrated the power to advance their industries, workplace equality and civic engagement across Chicagoland.
During the pandemic, Bauer galvanized a COVID response team that expanded capacity tenfold at four NorthShore Immediate Care sites, created free E-visits for patients, and developed a drive-through COVID testing facility that has performed nearly 14,000 tests.
Bauer has also been a key influencer in NorthShore’s diversity and inclusion initiatives. He co-leads the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Steering Committee, spearheading efforts to include accurate, appropriate, and sensitive demographic and clinical information for transgender and non-binary patients into NorthShore’s EMR. This technical implementation includes related education for our teams interacting and caring for patients.
Bauer is also a 2020 Dolan Scholar through the American College of Health Care Executives Thomas C. Dolan Executive Diversity Program. This prestigious opportunity is nurturing his executive leadership skills through self-awareness, mentoring opportunities and knowledge of critical leadership skills.
Now, halfway through the year-long program, Bauer said the personal growth he has experienced has positively influenced his lifelong journey to promote and advocate for a diverse and inclusive workplace and community.
