Sometimes the greatest gestures of gratitude are the simplest.
Take, for example, this letter to Skokie Hospital team members from a grateful husband whose wife was rushed to the Emergency Department and was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm.
“There’s no doubt that the medical team at Skokie Hospital, led by Dr. Kendra Hall, saved my wife’s life,” wrote Lawrence Levine about his wife, Peggy. “Dr. Hall and her team stabilized Peggy and quickly diagnosed that she had hydrocephalus along with the aneurysm. When I arrived at the Skokie Hospital emergency room, Dr. Hall immediately met me, and calmly explained the situation and what the medical team was doing to prepare her for her neurological procedure at Evanston Hospital. Dr. Kendra Hall, 'I‘m writing to simply say I can’t thank Dr. Hall and her colleagues enough as they saved my wife’s life that day. Perhaps that’s just an ordinary day for your colleagues, but it certainly wasn’t an ordinary day for my family, and we’re eternally grateful.'”
