The new NorthShore Cardiovascular Institute at Glenbrook Hospital will be a regional destination for the most advanced heart care on the North Shore.
The first of its kind facility in Illinois is set to open in 2024. The 170,000-square-foot facility will include nine new cardiology procedure labs and six state-of-the-art surgical suites.
It will also house world-class experts, state-of-the-art technology and specialized staff in a dedicated environment.
“The vision is to create a facility where our physicians and nurses and other staff can care for our patients, but also, importantly, we’ve tried to focus on the experience that our patients and their families will have when they are coming through,” said Jesse Peterson Hall, president of Glenbrook Hospital.
The new cardiovascular institute is designed to accommodate emerging technologies—from AI and robotics to advanced imaging, digital health and wearables.
“This facility is going to give us an opportunity to consolidate services and coalesce expertise in a way that we really have not been able to do before,” Gregory Mishkel, MD, an interventional cardiologist, chief and VP of the division of cardiology, and co-director of the cardiac service line.
The care model will mean better outcomes and quicker returns home for patients.
