Kellogg Cancer Center

Special Message:

Kellogg Visitor Policy

Because Kellogg is a place where we are caring for immunocompromised patients, our visitor guidelines may differ from those of the hospital and other Medical Group offices. We fully understand the need for support from family and friends during cancer treatment and will continue to recognize and honor that, yet our focus remains on overall safety of our patients, families, and our staff.

At this time we are allowing TWO visitors, 18 years or older, to accompany patients to any Physician or Advanced Practice Provider appointment and allowing ONE visitor for all treatment appointments in the Kellogg Cancer Center. This is subject to change at any time. Please check this page routinely for updates.

As a reminder, if additional family or friends would like to take part in the visit, we are always happy to help them participate via telephone or even video. Please inform the clinical team if you would like to have someone join into the visit. Your treatment nurse can also speak to a support person on the phone to summarize any discharge instructions.

Personalized Cancer Treatment

At NorthShore Kellogg Cancer Center, our collaborative team of physicians, nurses and other specially trained clinicians are dedicated to providing you with the highest level of customized care. Personalized medicine is no longer just the future of medicine, it is here. Our patients benefit from individualized treatment plans and the most sophisticated genomic and tumor analysis that directs therapy to one’s own “personal” tumor characteristics.

And just as important as DNA, we personalize treatment with a holistic approach, attending not only to your medical but also nutritional, psychological, financial and social needs. Our advanced molecular pathology and diagnostics laboratory capabilities allow us to leverage our considerable strengths in cancer care. Additionally, the continual expansion of our comprehensive immunotherapy program ensures that our patients benefit from leading-edge technology and sophisticated treatment options.

As NorthShore, we have become a national force in the integration of complex genomic information into clinical care. Now, we are establishing a groundbreaking program to incorporate the latest in genomic testing and science for our advanced cancer patients. The Kellogg Cancer Genomic Initiative reflects our commitment to personalized medicine and superior care.

Innovative Cancer Research

From the quickly evolving world of immunotherapy, which we have made a priority and conducted a vast array of clinical trials, to surgical enhancements including robotic pancreatic cancer surgery, we ensure that our patients have access to the latest and most effective therapies.

As both a teaching and research-driven program, we set ourselves apart from many other healthcare institutions. Another distinguishing feature is our close partnership with the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and its science faculty.
