Personal Bio
Treatment Philosophy
I am a primary care physician, translational researcher, and expert in precision medicine, tobacco control, and health policy. My treatment philosophy is to treat every patient with the kindness and respect I would have for members of my own family, and to serve through science and compassion -- one patient at a time. I also serve as Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Chicago, as Program Director for Translational Science with the NorthShore Outcomes Research Network, and as Director of the Primary Care and Population Health Investigators (PCPH) Investigators Group, connecting primary care research and researchers to the larger CTSA/Institute for Translational Medicine community.
Personal Interests
Marathon running, college football, fishing, skiing, sailing, and most importantly, walking in the park or on the beach with my wife and daughter.
