Personal Bio
Personal Interests
My specific interests include gastrointestinal, breast and genitourinary pathology. I evaluate samples from the gastrointestinal tract for both inflammatory and neoplastic processes, including the monitoring of patients with Barrett’s esophagus and inflammatory bowel disease and currently serve as a member of the Rectal Cancer Multidisciplinary Team. My analysis of breast cancer begins with a diagnostic biopsy and extends to evaluation of resection specimens and lymph nodes which helps to determine breast cancer staging. I have also been involved in several research projects aimed at identifying tumor characteristics which will better predict the behavior of prostate cancer. In addition, as head of the Anatomic Pathology Quality Committee, I am committed to the department's efforts to maintain optimal accuracy, timeliness and completeness of pathologic diagnoses and reports.
