This course is designed to teach basic and complex fundamental concepts related to both functional and aesthetic rhinoplasty surgery. The lectures are given by plastic surgery and otolaryngology attending physicians who have specialized fellowship training in the areas of functional and aesthetic nasal surgery. These sessions are interactive and open discussion is encouraged.
OBJECTIVES: • Demonstrate internal and external analysis of the nose and rhinoplasty patient evaluation • Describe dynamic and static anatomy of the nose • Demonstrate a conceptual framework for rhinoplasty treatment planning and apply theory of rhinoplasty to patient case examples • Learn difference between functional and aesthetic aspects of rhinoplasty • Describe treatment of the nasal bones, middle nasal vault, and nasal tip • Demonstrate proficiency with important aspects of the rhinoplasty consultation process • Compare and contrast autologous and non-autologous nasal grafting options and techniques • Identify appropriate postoperative rhinoplasty patient management • Gain hands-on experience with rhinoplasty techniques outlined within the course
