Hematology/Oncology

University of Chicago (Endeavor Health) Program

The Endeavor Health Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program, located at our NorthShore Hospitals, is designed to help fellows succeed as future clinicians by equipping fellows with hands-on, real-world practice across multiple subspecialties.

Overview

This three-year fellowship prepares future clinicians and leaders for both academic medicine or community-based practice. Our faculty includes 25 hematology/oncology disease-specific subspecialists in both benign and malignant hematology and solid tumor oncology (breast, gastrointestinal, thoracic, head and neck, genitourinary, cutaneous and sarcoma), along with specialists in gynecologic and neuro-oncology. Additional training in medical genetics, radiation oncology, surgical and molecular pathology, pharmacology/chemotherapy, blood banking and palliative care is incorporated.

  • Academic affiliation: Our program is sponsored by our academic partner, the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. This gives our fellows access to a mix of top-tier learning and career growth opportunities
  • Wide exposure to sub-specialties: Fellows receive hands-on, individualized training across the full spectrum of hematologic and oncologic conditions, building a comprehensive foundation for excellence in patient care
  • Renowned faculty: Fellows benefit from direct mentorship and one-on-one teaching from passionate leaders deeply invested in training the next generation of clinicians.
  • Fellow-focused: Our fellows thrive in a safe, nurturing learning environment that combines guided classroom instruction with dynamic clinical practicum

Facilities and locations

Our hematology oncology fellowship is based at two convenient outpatient cancer centers—Kellogg Cancer Center in Glenbrook and Evanston—both located within buildings connected to their respective hospitals.

Allogenic bone marrow transplant training takes place at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

Program structure & curriculum

Fellows work closely with mentors and faculty recognized for driving innovation in patient care. The breadth and depth of the faculty, in addition to the program sites and diverse patient populations, will provide fellows with comprehensive knowledge in the fields of hematology/oncology for real-world practice and leadership roles. Learn more about our impact in our Annual 2023 Report

Our fellowship training program includes:
