Trauma and Fractures

At the NorthShore Orthopaedic & Spine Institute, located on the Skokie Hospital campus, your team is comprised of trained experts, orthopaedic trauma surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, other care team members and more. Each is highly experienced in using the latest innovations and leading-edge techniques.

Our experienced trauma surgeons care for patients of all ages from children through centenarians, and our program treats more hip fractures than any other facility in the area. We take a comprehensive approach to patient care and work closely with specialists in bone density and bone health, offering special expertise in the care of long bone fractures.

Our trauma surgeons take a pro-active stance in patient care and work collaboratively with other surgical staff and related disciplines to maintain rapid response and optimal treatment aimed at returning patients to the best level of post-injury function as quickly as possible.

A monthly trauma conference held at Evanston Hospital supports a multidisciplinary collaborative approach to care, with specialists in trauma, emergency medicine, anesthesia, social services and more coming together to ensure continued quality outcomes for patients.

Education is an important component of the trauma program and the state-of-the-art Grainger Center for Simulation and Innovation (GCSI) provides exceptional training opportunities for residents and physicians.

NorthShore's orthopaedic trauma surgeons are recognized leaders in the growing field, and are active in national organizations.
